Tragedy In California: Small Plane Crash Claims Two Lives And A Dog In Suburban Neighborhood

A small plane crashed into a Simi Valley neighborhood Saturday afternoon, killing two people and a dog.

The single-engine Van’s RV-10 hit two homes, causing a fire and structural damage. “We’re glad we managed to escape,” said Arman Hovakemian, whose home was struck in both the dining room and backyard.

The crash happened in the Wood Ranch neighborhood, about 50 miles northwest of Los Angeles. Security footage showed the plane circling low for nearly three minutes before impact. “I am numb,” Hovakemian told the Los Angeles Times, describing how the fuselage landed where he had just been standing.
