‘Hamstering’ is the new sex trend going viral

TikTok’s latest bizarre trend, called “hamstering,” is gaining attention for its mix of public stunts, sexual experimentation, and risky car antics.

The act involves one person, naked from the waist down, hanging out of a car’s sunroof while the other performs oral sex from inside. The term comes from “the awkward posture hamsters use to drink from a water spout—head tilted and tongue extended.”

It might sound like a comedy sketch, but it’s spreading quickly on TikTok thanks to viral reactions, memes, and mock how-to videos. The shock value and ridiculous visuals are exactly what make it trend-worthy.

While the act is clearly not for everyone, curiosity is fueling its rise. People aren’t necessarily doing it—they’re watching, laughing, and sharing. Still, the stunt has sparked concern among experts.
